The bonfire still burns at 7pm when everyone knocked off for the after party.

The NYFD <i>never</i> responded to the bonfire site during the time I was there. At least a dozen cops and a captain (I think NYPD captains wear white, to signify their virginal status) saw the fire and yet none, as far as I can tell, called it in.
